This page explains how to delete your cheevo account and what happens to your data when you do. cheevo is operated by Issorite (issorite.com), registered in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It applies to both the cheevo attendee app and the cheevo organizer app.
If you only want a copy of your data, you do not need to delete your account — you can export your data at any time from within the app (see section 6).
1. Delete your account from within the app (recommended)
The fastest way to delete your account is directly in the app:
- Open the cheevo app and go to Account (or Settings).
- Tap "Delete account".
- Review what will be removed, then confirm.
- Enter the one-time code we email to your account address to verify it's you.
Once confirmed, your account is deleted immediately and permanently. This cannot be undone.
2. Request deletion by email
If you can no longer access the app, you can ask us to delete your account instead. Email support@cheevo.events from the email address registered to your account, with the subject "Delete my account".
We may ask you to verify your identity before we act on the request, to protect your account. We will complete verified deletion requests within 30 days and confirm by email when it's done.
3. Before you delete: organizers
You cannot delete an account that still owns an Organisation. If you are an organizer, you must first transfer ownership of, or delete, each Organisation you own. Deleting an Organisation also removes its events, ticket types, and broadcasts, and ends ticket sales for those events.
If you have any pending payouts or unsettled balances, please make sure these are resolved before deleting, as deletion is permanent.
4. What is deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove your personal account information, including:
- Your profile: name, username, bio, profile photo, gender, date of birth, and saved location.
- Your email address and sign-in credentials.
- Your selected interests.
- Your RSVPs, the organisations you follow, and your blocked list.
- Your notification preferences and registered devices (push notification tokens).
- The personal link to the comments you posted (your comments are removed from public view or detached from your identity).
5. What is retained, and why
Some records cannot be fully erased because we are required to keep them or need them to protect the platform. Where we keep these, we remove the link to your identity (anonymize them) wherever possible:
- Transaction and financial records — orders, payments, and payouts — are retained in anonymized form for accounting, tax, audit, and fraud-prevention purposes, and to comply with the law.
- Issued tickets are retained in anonymized form so that event entry and check-in records remain valid for organizers.
- Safety and moderation records (such as audit logs and email unsubscribe/suppression records) may be retained as needed to keep the platform safe and to honor your communication choices.
These records no longer identify you personally once your account is deleted.
6. Export your data first
If you'd like a copy of your information before deleting, open the app, go to Account (or Settings), and choose "Export my data". You'll receive a file containing your profile, interests, organisations, follows, blocks, notification preferences, RSVPs, orders, tickets, and comments, which you can save or share from your device.
7. Timing and permanence
Deletion performed in the app takes effect immediately. Deletion requested by email is completed within 30 days of verification. In both cases, deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed, and your username is not reserved for you after deletion.
