Terms of Service

Last updated June 8, 2026

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the cheevo platform, including the cheevo attendee app, the cheevo organizer app, the cheevo websites, and all related features and services (together, the "Platform"). The Platform is operated by Issorite (issorite.com), a company registered in the Federal Republic of Nigeria ("cheevo", "we", "us", or "our").

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Platform.

1. Who we are and what cheevo does

cheevo is an events platform that helps people discover events, buy tickets, and connect with event organizers, and helps organizers create events, sell tickets, and manage attendees.

cheevo is a marketplace and technology provider. Events listed on the Platform are created, hosted, and run by independent third parties ("Organizers"), not by cheevo. When you buy a ticket or RSVP to an event, your agreement to attend that event is between you and the Organizer. cheevo provides the Platform and payment facilitation that enable these transactions; cheevo is not the host, producer, or organizer of any event unless expressly stated.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a legally binding contract to use the Platform. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate and complete. If you use the Platform on behalf of an organization or business, you represent that you are authorized to bind that entity to these Terms.

You may not use the Platform if you are barred from doing so under the laws of Nigeria or any other applicable jurisdiction, or if your account has previously been suspended or terminated by us.

3. Definitions

- Attendee — a user who discovers events, RSVPs, or purchases tickets.

- Organizer — a user who creates and manages an Organisation and publishes events.

- Organisation — the organizer profile through which events, tickets, payouts, and team members are managed.

- Event — an event listing created by an Organizer.

- Ticket — a right of admission to an Event, issued as a unique code following a completed Order.

- Order — a purchase of one or more Tickets.

- Content — any text, images, comments, GIFs, descriptions, logos, or other materials submitted to the Platform.

4. Your account

You access the Platform using a single account tied to your email address. We use one-time codes sent to your email to sign you in; you are responsible for keeping access to your email secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.

Certain sensitive actions — such as changing your email address or deleting your account — require additional verification. You are responsible for safeguarding your device and any signed-in sessions. Notify us at support@cheevo.events if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorization.

You may hold only one account unless we expressly permit otherwise. We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts as described in these Terms.

5. Discovering events, RSVPs, and tickets

The Platform lets you browse and search events, follow Organisations, RSVP to events, and purchase Tickets. Event details — including dates, times, venues, pricing, age or entry requirements, and availability — are provided by Organizers. While we strive to present accurate information, cheevo does not guarantee the accuracy, quality, safety, or legality of any event, and we are not responsible for an Organizer's acts or omissions.

RSVPing to an event does not guarantee admission unless a valid Ticket (where required) is also held. Some events are free and require only an RSVP; others require a paid Ticket. Where an Organizer enables presale or invitation-only sales, access to purchase may be limited.

6. Pricing, fees, and payment

Ticket prices are set by Organizers. Unless stated otherwise, all prices and fees are in Nigerian Naira (NGN).

cheevo charges a service fee on paid Orders, which is added to the ticket price at checkout and paid by the buyer. The service fee is currently 3% of the ticket subtotal plus a flat ₦100 per Order. We may change the service fee from time to time; the fee shown to you at checkout before you confirm an Order is the fee that applies to that Order. Payment processor charges may also apply.

Payments are processed by third-party payment providers, currently Paystack and Flutterwave. By making a payment, you also agree to the applicable provider's terms. We do not store full card or banking authentication details; these are handled by the payment provider. You authorize us and our payment providers to charge your selected payment method for the total amount shown at checkout.

An Order is only complete once payment is confirmed. We may cancel Orders that remain unpaid, that fail verification, or that we reasonably suspect to be fraudulent. Tickets are issued to your account once an Order is paid (or immediately, for free Orders).

7. Tickets and entry

Each Ticket contains a unique code used for entry. Tickets are issued to the purchasing account and are intended for personal use. You may not copy, reproduce, resell, or transfer Tickets except where expressly permitted by cheevo and the Organizer. Unauthorized resale, scalping, duplication, or commercial exploitation of Tickets is prohibited and may result in the Ticket being voided without refund.

Admission to an event is subject to the Organizer's rules and the lawful requirements of the venue, which may include age verification, security screening, and capacity limits. A Ticket may be scanned only once for entry. We or an Organizer may revoke or invalidate Tickets in cases of fraud, chargeback, breach of these Terms, or event cancellation.

8. Refunds, cancellations, and changes

All sales are final unless a refund is expressly granted. Because events are run by Organizers, refund eligibility depends on the Organizer's policy for the specific event and on applicable law. cheevo does not guarantee refunds.

Where a refund is approved, it is processed by cheevo to the original payment method. Refunds are issued for the full Order amount; partial refunds are not supported. Tickets associated with a refunded Order are revoked, except Tickets that have already been scanned for entry, which are not eligible for refund.

If an Organizer cancels, reschedules, or materially changes an event, the Organizer is primarily responsible for addressing affected Orders. cheevo may, at its discretion, facilitate refunds in such cases but is not obligated to fund them. Service and payment processing fees may be non-refundable except where required by law.

Initiating a payment dispute or chargeback without first contacting us at support@cheevo.events may result in suspension of your account and voiding of associated Tickets.

9. Organizers

If you create an Organisation and publish events, the following additional terms apply to you.

9.1 Your responsibilities

You are solely responsible for your events, including their planning, accuracy of listings, legality, safety, required licenses and permits, taxes, communications with attendees, and the actual delivery of the event. You represent that you have the right to sell tickets to and host each event you publish, and that your events and Content comply with all applicable laws and these Terms. You are responsible for honoring the tickets you sell and for any refunds or remedies owed to attendees.

9.2 Payouts

cheevo collects payment from buyers and remits proceeds to you, less the service fee retained by cheevo and any applicable payment and transfer charges. To receive payouts, you must register and verify a valid bank account and provide accurate settlement information.

Funds from a paid Order become available for payout after a settlement hold period (currently approximately two days after the Order is paid) to account for payment provider settlement timelines. Payout requests are subject to review and approval, minimum balance requirements, and a limit of one in-flight payout request per Organisation at a time. Bank transfer fees charged by the payout provider are deducted from your payout.

We may delay, withhold, reverse, or offset payouts where we reasonably suspect fraud, chargebacks, disputes, refunds owed, breach of these Terms, or where required by law. You are responsible for the accuracy of your bank details; cheevo is not liable for payouts sent to an account you provided incorrectly.

9.3 Taxes

You are responsible for determining, collecting, reporting, and remitting any taxes due in connection with your events and ticket sales. cheevo does not provide tax advice and is not responsible for your tax obligations.

9.4 Organizer communications and broadcasts

The Platform allows you to send broadcasts (email and/or push) to attendees of your events. You may use broadcasts only to communicate relevant information about events the recipient has ordered tickets for or RSVP'd to. You must not send spam, unsolicited marketing, deceptive, or unlawful messages, and you must honor unsubscribe and suppression requests. Misuse of broadcasts may result in suspension of the feature or your account.

10. User content and conduct

The Platform lets users post Content such as comments, GIFs, mentions, profiles, bios, event descriptions, and images. You retain ownership of the Content you submit. By submitting Content, you grant cheevo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt, and distribute that Content for the purpose of operating, providing, and promoting the Platform. You represent that you have the rights necessary to grant this license and that your Content does not infringe the rights of others.

10.1 Acceptable use

You agree not to post, upload, or share Content, or otherwise use the Platform, in a way that:

- is unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, obscene, hateful, harassing, threatening, or invasive of privacy;

- is sexually explicit, promotes violence or self-harm, or exploits or endangers minors;

- infringes intellectual property, publicity, or other rights of any person;

- contains malware, spam, or deceptive, misleading, or scam offers;

- impersonates any person or entity or misrepresents your affiliation;

- promotes illegal goods, services, or events, or facilitates ticket fraud or scalping;

- harvests or scrapes data, or interferes with, overburdens, or attempts to gain unauthorized access to the Platform or its systems.

10.2 Objectionable content and zero tolerance

cheevo has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. You can report Content and users (including events, organisations, comments, and profiles) and block other users and Organisations directly within the Platform. We review reports of objectionable content and will take appropriate action — which may include removing Content and suspending or removing the responsible user — generally within 24 hours of becoming aware of a violation.

We may, but are not obligated to, monitor, review, moderate, or remove Content. We may remove Content, lock comments, and suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion to enforce these Terms or protect the Platform and its users. We are not responsible for Content posted by users.

11. Notifications and communications

By using the Platform, you agree that we may send you transactional messages necessary to provide the service — such as sign-in codes, Order confirmations, ticket delivery, and important account or security notices. These messages are part of the service and are not promotional.

You can manage notification preferences, set quiet hours, and opt out of non-essential and marketing communications within the Platform or via the unsubscribe links provided. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we communicate with you.

12. Intellectual property

The Platform, including its software, design, text, graphics, and the cheevo and Issorite names and logos, is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for Content you own, nothing in these Terms grants you any right, title, or interest in the Platform. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the Platform except as permitted by law.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, you grant us the right to use them without restriction or compensation to you.

13. Third-party services and links

The Platform relies on and may link to third-party services (for example, payment providers, mapping and location services, and content providers). Your use of those services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies. cheevo is not responsible for third-party services or for events, venues, websites, or content controlled by others.

14. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Platform at any time and may delete your account from within the app. Note that you cannot delete an account that still owns an Organisation — you must first transfer or remove the Organisation. Account deletion is permanent: it removes your profile and personal account data, while certain transaction records (such as Orders and issued Tickets) may be retained in anonymized form as needed for accounting, legal, fraud-prevention, and event-integrity purposes, as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform, remove Content, withhold payouts, or void Tickets, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or to protect the Platform, other users, Organizers, or the public. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification — will survive.

15. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, cheevo disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any event will take place as described.

cheevo is not responsible for the events listed on the Platform. Any dispute relating to an event — including its quality, safety, cancellation, or an Organizer's conduct — is between you and the Organizer.

16. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, cheevo, Issorite, and our affiliates, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Platform or any event.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Platform will not exceed the greater of (a) the total service fees you paid to cheevo in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) ₦20,000. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless cheevo, Issorite, and our affiliates and personnel from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Platform, your Content, your events (if you are an Organizer), your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.

18. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that the courts located in Lagos State, Nigeria will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Before filing a claim, you agree to first contact us at support@cheevo.events to seek a good-faith resolution.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" above and may provide additional notice through the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Platform.

20. General

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any policies referenced here, are the entire agreement between you and cheevo regarding the Platform. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

21. Contact us

If you have questions about these Terms, contact us at support@cheevo.events. cheevo is operated by Issorite, registered in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
